WHO WE ARE
Eugene's Hands is an Atlanta based registered 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization driven to help restore self-sufficiency and independence for those experiencing homelessness by cultivating faith, developing skills, promoting knowledge from our wraparound services and providing access to a supportive community.
Here at Eugene's Hands our mission is to prepare individuals and families for “another chance at life”, by providing them with wraparound services, new opportunities and fresh resources to get back on their feet.
THE INSPIRATION BEHIND EUGENE'S HANDS
WHO'S EUGENE?
The inspiration for Eugene’s Hands came from the life of Army veteran Eugene Hightower, grandfather to Jamel Hightower.
"My granddaddy created and operated a halfway house in Ohio where recently released, formerly incarcerated persons could have a home during their transition back into the world. This was a place that was structured and without judgment. He lived with my mother and I and helped raise me as a child, so I grew up, hearing the many stories and experiences he would tell whenever he picked me up from elementary school. Which is where I learned from him the core values of how important integrity, compassion, trust, and forgiveness are. From all of his stories and example he taught me how to lead as a man and my passion for the less fortunate, was planted and began to take root. He always seemed to find someone to help or support whether they asked for it or not. When he died in 2012, I knew that I had to continue the legacy of his acts of faith, love, kindness and valor."

To become a place of hope, support, and rehabilitation for the entire individual and family and to become a premier all-in-one Rehabilitation Center in Georgia through our wide variety of assistance programs designed to prepare those experiencing homelessness with the necessary skills, knowledge, healthy recovery space, and support to reenter society feeling equipped and prepared.
